I am honored to be the President of the IMA Austin Area Chapter for 2010-2011.

To kick off the new IMA year, the IMA Austin Board Members and guests met on May 26th to establish goals and objectives, in addition to plan the upcoming Chapter events.

IMA Austin Area Chapter Goals and Objectives for 2010-2011 are:

• Improve our professional marketing and networking efforts.
• Improve our student events.
• Continue with the IMA Austin Newsletter effort.

These goals and objectives support the IMA's vision of "To be the leading resource for developing, certifying, connecting, and supporting the world's best accountants and financial professionals in business."

However, we can't reach our goals and objectives without you.   I ask that every member encourage colleagues, friends and employers to support IMA.  In addition, if you have any suggestions on how we can continue to support IMA's vision and serve the needs of IMA Austin Area Chapter members, please contact me.

I would like to thank Kelly Benson for serving as the Past President of the IMA Austin Area Chapter.  To all IMA Austin Area members, thank you for your continued support and contribution to make the IMA Austin Area Chapter continue its path of success.

Last but not least, please mark your calendars for the upcoming technical meetings.  These meetings are eligible for 1 CPE and include networking opportunities.
